Old Head: Psychedelic Dead from Maryland’s Heartland

Maryland’s Old Head have carved out their own niche in the ever-growing world of Grateful Dead tributes. 

While many groups cover the entire songbook, Old Head digs deep into the psychedelic years of 1965 through 1970 — a period defined by primal jams, Pigpen’s raw blues energy, and the band’s transformation from acid-test warriors to pioneers of improvisational rock.

Based in the Maryland/Baltimore/DC corridor, Old Head’s appeal resonates far beyond local venues. Fans chasing the early Dead’s wild energy — the swirl of psychedelic improvisation mixed with Pigpen’s gritty vocal power — will find Old Head delivering the goods. Though primarily rooted in the mid-to-late ’60s catalog, the band occasionally steps outside those boundaries for a surprise tune from later years, always keeping audiences on their toes.

The bus is heading back to 1969, and Old Head is at the wheel.

With a nod to the past and a wink to the future from behind their sunglasses, Baltimore's The Dirty Grass Players have been pushing the leading edge of bluegrass music since 2015. As convincing on a 10-minute jam as they are on a 2-minute classic, they find an intersection between progress and tradition that in one set could inspire Flatt & Scruggs to reunite and then break up all over again. With harmonies to please any purist, compositions fresh enough to have been written tomorrow, and improvisations that fearlessly stride to the end of every limb, this band can play as clean as anybody but isn't afraid to get a little dirty.

Hailing from the resonant shores of the Chesapeake, Bay Dream brings the party through a psychedelic, bluesy-surf-rock energy with a little bit of distortion and grit. Drawing inspiration from artists such as Van Morrison, Skegss, The Doors, and The Arctic Monkeys, each member carries their own influences to design a sound that blends lively melodies, vibrant rhythms, and ambient undertones seamlessly.
Having formed only a year ago, Bay Dream, comprised of Jack Kunowsky (Lead Vocals/Guitar), Matt Bucci (Vocals/Guitar), Patrick Owen (Keyboard), Nick MaCleay (Lead Guitar), Chris Littlejohn (Drums), and Bobby Sacker (Bass), has had much success around the Annapolis and Baltimore areas, selling out local venues and throwing pop-up shows at raft-ups along the bay. 2026 is shaping up to be a big year as the band plans to release their first EP, Maraschino, and to broaden their musical footprint along the east coast.

Visitor Center is a Baltimore-based dance punk and new wave band formed in 2022, featuring members Chase Duvall, Alex Girgis, Jonny Green, Jenna Marcus, and Scout Maucione. Join Medium Debbie on Thursday APRIL 9 2026 as she provides detailed messages to random audience members from their loved ones in Spirit. While all attendees are NOT guaranteed a reading, it is an excellent opportunity to better understand the amazing world of Spirit.

Debbie's metaphysical journey began with a near death experience when she was a teenager. Multiple personal losses in her early 20's prompted a personal journey to study and learn more about what she had come to realize is a Metaphysical gift. She has studied extensively with British mediums in the traditions of the Spiritualist Churches of Great Britain. Concurrently she did pursue a more 'normal career'; she holds a masters' Degree for Johns Hopkins and worked as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer for over 20 years.  This background and experience dealing with very difficult situations lends itself well to the readings she provides with insight, sensitivity, and empathy.

Justin Schlegel is a comedy and radio mainstay in Baltimore Maryland. He's performed at the world renowned Just For Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal, Bert Kreischer's FULLY LOADED festival, and HBOs Aspen Comedy. Justin has worked with Dave Attell, Lisa Lamponelli, Harland Williams, and StavrosHalkias.

Rob Stant is a stand up comedian based just outside of Philadelphia. He was 2nd runner up for Phillys Phunniest and has found great success on social media amassing a substantial amount of followers on Tik Tok and Instagram. Rob is best known for his observational humor and stories about his wife and family, but also enjoys poking fun at himself and the audience. You can watch his special “Bobby Boy” on YouTube and listen to his podcast “Two in the Stink” on all streaming platforms.

Jim Gillespie is a Philadelphia-based stand-up comedian known for his high-energy, crowd-interactive performance style. He is a prominent figure in the Philly comedy scene and has gained recognition as a finalist for "Philly's Funniest" at the Helium Comedy Club. Gillespie’s comedy is described as bold, high-energy, and no-holds-barred. He specializes in crowd work, often engaging directly with the audience to create an original and spontaneous experience.He has toured nationwide and frequently performs with comedian Casey Rocket. 

Quindlen is the host and producer of the Second Saturday S#!t Show, which has run for over 13.5 years at the Ottobar in Baltimore. Quindlen started his comedy career after a friend encouraged him following a prank at the World Cup in South Africa. He first performed at Magooby’s Joke House. He has opened for high-profile comedians such as Doug Stanhope, JB Smoove, Rachel Feinstein, and Alonzo Bodden.

The Summer Songwriter Showcase features 4 local singer songwriters sharing their stories and songs including Keith Grounds, Asenath Rose, Sadia and Tyler Setera.

Originally from Bowie MD, Keith Grounds tries his best to stray from generic cliches and trades them in for deeper, heartfelt lyrics. He has been writing original music for several years, drawing inspiration from artists such as Eric Church, Bruce Springsteen, Kip Moore & Shinedown. Residing somewhere between country and rock, he intertwines humor with the stories behind his songs and ensures nothing is left behind. 

Chris Honeman Chris is a Maryland native whose musical journey has been shaped by a diverse range of influences, from the soulful ballads of James Taylor to the raw energy of Alice in Chains, and the smooth harmonies of Boyz II Men. Growing up surrounded by different musical genres, Chris developed an eclectic sound that reflects the complexity of his experiences and the wide spectrum of his musical tastes.

Hailing from Annapolis, Maryland, Pressing Strings is a powerhouse trio–led by guitarist and vocalist Jordan Sokel–has earned a loyal following with their genre bending blend of blues, rock, and folk, wrapped in soul-stirring storytelling and toe tapping grooves. Their music resonates with the emotional grit of blues, the laid back swagger of folk, and the urgency of modern rock.  

Whether delivering heartfelt ballads or energetic anthems, Pressing Strings weaves lyrical introspection and high-caliber musicianship that feels both fresh and familiar. Sokel’s smokey voice and intricate guitar work is complimented masterfully by a star rhythm section. Held down tightly by drummer Justin Kruger–an energetic and charismatic performer whose style mirrors his outside the box personality and unique approach to the instrument, along with bassist Nick Welker–a solid and stoic figure who picks melodic lines and chordal voicings that makes the trio sound full and lush.  All three members sing, adding harmonies reminiscent of southern California in the 70’s. Together they push the limits of what a trio can do and provide an immersive, feel-good vibe that hits the audience’s heart as hard as it does the ears.

In 2026, The Wailers celebrate the 50th anniversary of Rastaman Vibration, one of Bob Marley & The Wailers’ most influential albums. The 50 Years of Positive Vibrations tour honors this landmark release with select cuts alongside the timeless classics that continue to unite generations. Released in 1976, Rastaman Vibration carried reggae’s message of resistance, spirituality, and hope to the world, with songs like “Positive Vibration,” “Roots, Rock, Reggae,” and “War” remaining powerfully relevant today.

Led by Aston Barrett Jr., son of legendary bassist Aston “Familyman” Barrett, The Wailers honor their roots while carrying the music forward with purpose. Brickyard Road - Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute

Brickyard Road has their sights set on being the best Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute in the world. Now, after Twenty-Five years and over a dozen talented players contributing to the success the band has achieved, we’re glad to say our current lineup is the best we’ve ever had y’all! Our band leader Rob says, “This is what I’ve wanted all these years. We put on a genuine, family-friendly show for the fans of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Everyone knows we’re going to play Free Bird for our heroes and the fans at the end of the night, but it comes from the heart every time. Hey, these are our favorite songs!”. 

Now with the addition of new frontman Mike, they are ready to deliver Skynyrd’s music to fans both old and new. Mike is no stranger to the group, having previously shared the stage with Brickyard Road while fronting other bands. Reflecting on the opportunity, he said:

“I jumped at the chance to perform with this band. I think the call lasted about 30 seconds before I was saying yes. Every time I shared the stage with them, I thought, if you close your eyes, it’s like listening to the record.”

The band has over 30-songs!…that’s three hours of classic Skynyrd tunes including all the hits, Sweet Home Alabama, What’s Your Name, Curtis Loew and more! The band also does a wide selection of deep cuts like, I Need You, Whiskey Rock-A-Roller and On The Hunt as well as a few more recent songs and a few hand-picked bonus tracks from other heroes in Southern Rock. Brickyard Road can be seen playing any number of venues, theaters, fairs, charity events, bike rallies, restaurants and bars in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Delaware, but also play farther from home.

We end every show with Free Bird and, well, we wanna hear you scream it! Just like you’ve been yellin’ at bands all these years that can’t be expected to play it! Freeee Biiiiiiird!!! In all seriousness, we feel just like Ronnie Van Zant said about Lynyrd Skynyrd, we show up lookin’ to hit it out of the park.

Recently named “Las Vegas’s Best Up-and-Coming Comedy Magician” by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Matt Donnelly has been captivating audiences across North America with his one-of-a-kind blend of comedy and mind-blowing magic. His show, The Mind Noodler, isn’t just about tricks—it’s about storytelling, laughter, and the unexpected.

Matt’s journey into magic started in an unconventional way. As the head writer for Penn & Teller: Fool Us, he was challenged by Penn Jillette himself to learn just one magic trick. “It’s harder than you think,” Penn told him, “but you might be better at it than you think.” Instead of learning just one trick, Matt learned seven—each from a different magician—and wove them together into his first-ever performance. From that moment on, The Mind Noodler was born.

Matt spent years honing his craft on the road, opening for Piff the Magic Dragon and refining his unique, comedy-infused approach to magic. Now, he headlines his own Mind Noodlingtour, performing at some of the most prestigious magic venues in the country, including LA’s Magic Castle, The Chicago Magic Lounge, and Nashville’s House of Cards. Korupt LIVE at Cult July 11

Korupt was formed in late 1982 when hard rock, hair metal and MTV were the rage. The band has performed at most of the iconic clubs around the tri state area, including the Bayou in Georgetown, Hammerjacks in Baltimore, The Paragon in College Park as well as many others. They were also included in the Hammerjacks Rockumentary. Korupt has also performed at the M3 festival at Merriweather post pavilion on 4 occasions.  Korupt was the most repeated band at the Island Bay Day festival, which ran for 10 years. There is an original CD called Blood Brothers available on most streaming networks. They have kept their shows to the classic style of the 80’s, doing covers from Guns and Roses, Slaughter, Black Sabbath and Dokken just to name a few.  If you still love the 80’s or Hair Nation on satellite radio then this is the band to see.

Limited seating is available (with tables and chairs) and we've got all sorts of room on the dance floor for general admission.  

General admission (standing) is $8 in advance, $10 at the door.
Reserved Seating is $15

The band features Kayleigh Dove on vocals and keys, whose expressive voice and musical range bring a fresh dynamic to the group’s sound.
