Madison Morton is releasing her debut EP, "Out Loud", and she's bringing the best of the Chesapeake with her.
Tune in for a cant-miss Thursday night show with live music from Gage Rhodes, Fluorescence, Mo, Pete Sanchez, Briana Merkel and Madison Morton 

Gage Rhodes: Gage Rhodes is an indie folk singer-songwriter from the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Gage and his band, The Rural Depression, do not mind talking about the funny, dark, strange paths we find ourselves on. Influenced by a lifetime of strangeness, trouble, and eclectic music tastes, Gage Rhodes and The Rural Depression try to make honest songs for their listeners to enjoy.

Fluorescence Fluorescence is a psychedelic indie rock band from Maryland, formed back in 2021. Originally a four piece, two of the members Jeremy and Drew will be putting on an unplugged acoustic set for this show. Playing some classic originals with a more intimate and striped down vibe. 

MO MO started out in a college dorm basement and grew through summer open mics in New York before settling in Maryland. Their sound blends soft rock and acoustic folk, showcased in both covers and original tracks. The band features Mary Sprague, a lifelong musician skilled in guitar, saxophone, and piano. Olivia Libowitz, the band's vocalist and a Maryland native, is a dynamic singer-songwriter with a passion for collaboration and crafting songs for both MO and other artists.

Briana Merkel: Born of the ancient Appalachian mountains, Briana Merkel sings of love, loss, healing and redemption, with a grassy, genre bending style all her own.  You can find her on stages throughout the mid Atlantic performing solo and with her band JiggleBilly.

Pete Sanchez: Hailing from Edgewater, Maryland, Sanchez discovered his love for music at 14 when he first picked up a guitar, and by 18, he had written his first song, sparking his musical journey. Now based in Chestertown, Maryland, his music combines introspective singer-songwriter elements with ambient and folk-inspired rhythms. His 2018 debut album, Prologue, self-produced and acoustically authentic, showcases his lyrical depth through singles like "Oh No," which explores romantic mysticism. From the evocative "Chesapeake" to "Sounds Made Moved By Lovers," the album reflects themes of love and hope, establishing Sanchez as an artist whose music offers solace and inspiration.

Madison Morton: Madison Morton is an independent singer-songwriter from Maryland’s eastern shore whose music is an intimate reflection of her life's journey. From a young age, Madison immersed herself in music, using songwriting as a form of personal expression and journaling. Her acoustic sound, primarily driven by her guitar, captures the essence of her introspective and often melancholic lyrics. As a self-taught musician, Madison crafts each song with a raw honesty that resonates deeply with her listeners. Her songs are more than melodies—they are poignant glimpses into her soul, shared with a sincerity that makes her music both relatable and profoundly moving.

The United States of America and the feeling of freedom on the freeway, there's nothing quite like it. But you can't drive forever, you gotta fuel up, the vehicle and the beast you're inside of. So you peel off the exit and commence the hunt for sustenance. 

Sure, you could eat a cheeseburger inside of a hotdog with plop nacho cheese and wash it down with a 64oz guzzler, OR... you could track down the states most popular cuisine and really immerse yourself in the experience.

Here at Cult Classic, we dream about all the food, all day long, so we're kicking off Freeway Friday. Every Friday, we're picking a different state and serving up their finest fare (while it lasts) to you.
Doors open at 11am and as always, your first lunch beer is just $5.

Parker Barrow LIVE at Cult with Mojo Aces

Parker Barrow, the blues-infused Southern rock band led by Megan Kane (vocals) and Dylan Turner (drums), supported by the formidable Alex Bender (guitar) and Michael Beckhart (bassist), is a powerhouse group, boasting a distinctive musical style. Forged from an immediate connection, the band finds inspiration in the infamous duo of Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow. Kane and Turner aim to infuse their music with the iconic energy of a dynamic duo, portraying a narrative where, instead of evading the law, they are a dynamic pair in pursuit of their rock ‘n’ roll dreams.

Joining the bill is Mojo Aces, a rock n’ roll band born out of the vibrant music scene of the Washington D.C. area, consisting of lead singer Ean Eschenburg, guitarists Jon Kraft and Jakob Markham, bassist Derek Tay, and drummer Eric Levy. Drawing inspiration from the golden era of rock in the 70s and 80s. Fueled by their passion for groovy, hard-hitting rock n’ roll, the band embarked on a journey to create their own original music, defined by raw, heartfelt emotion and a "no BS" attitude.

Faeries Foes and False Lovers

Baltimore returns to the roots of All Hallows’ Eve! Led by acclaimed singer Heather Lloyd (ilyaimy) and mandolinist Joel Michael-Schwartz, an all-star ensemble of musicians is bringing songs of ghosts, monsters, fae, witches, and, (of course), murder most foul to Creative Alliance. Heather and Joel share a love of old, macabre songs and their peculiar place in our lives and hearts and are eager to bring these haunting melodies to you during the spookiest time of year. The band features Peter Krutscnitt (percussion) of the Pilgrims of Deep Run, Kris Belgica of the Hot Club of Baltimore, and the acclaimed, award-winning cellist Ellen Gira.

Joel Michael-Schwartz is an eclectic fixture of Baltimore music—a mandolinist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, and songwriter who hops genres and expectations as a matter of course. He grew up listening to and learning celtic music, and the first album he fell in love with was Roberts and Barron’s Tales of the Supernatural, which makes his affinity for spooky songs a lifelong affair. Joel is Associate Director of the Baltimore Mandolin Orchestra, mandolin faculty at Goucher College, and regularly performs around the Baltimore/DC area. In 2022, in the aftermath of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, he co-organized a series of benefit concerts at Creative Alliance, An Die Musik, and the Meyerhoff Symphony, and appeared in many other events for the same cause.

Heather Aubrey Lloyd has co-fronted Baltimore’s ilyAIMY for two decades. Traveling the country playing everything from bait shops to clothing-optional resorts, Lloyd’s collection of stories turned lyrics and became her first solo studio effort, A Message in the Mess. Each narrative is offered up in her passionate, “sing-me-the-phone-book” alto. Her finger-picked guitar says folk. Her lyrics show the influence of Baltimore’s slam poetry scene. Her hand percussion says world music. “Janis Joplin…and Joni Mitchell blended together,” says The Montgomery Caller. A Message in the Mess received the Director’s Award for Album of the Year from the Mid-Atlantic Song Contest, and the awards haven’t stopped since: 2018 No Depression Magazine Songwriting Award Finalist, 2018 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival MOST WANTED Artist, 2018 National Women’s Music Festival Emerging Artist, 2017 Telluride Troubadour Top 4. She is a Grand Prize winner of the prestigious Bernard Ebb Songwriting Award (2019). Live shows are back, with Lloyd recently opening shows for Gretchen Peters and Gordon Lightfoot. Lloyd plans to release new music in 2023, featuring songs about mental health, the plight of refugees, and aging gracefully.

Scott Tournet is known for being the frontman for Elektric Voodoo, a founding member of Grace Potter & The Nocturnals (2003-2014), a solo artist, and producer.  With The Nocturnals he was a co-writer on 3 Top 40 albums and scored a gold record for the song “Paris”. 

In addition to his work with EV and the Nocturnals, Scott has written and recorded with Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys), Willie Nelson, T Bone Burnett, Kenny Chesney, Alison Krauss, Mark Batson (Dr. Dre, Alicia Keys, Eminem) and others.  He has performed with The Allman Brothers, members of The Grateful Dead and Phish, Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top) and many others.

Sure, you could eat a cheeseburger inside of a hotdog with plop nacho cheese and wash it down with a 64oz guzzler, OR... you could track down the states most popular cuisine and really immerse yourself in the experience.

Here at Cult Classic, we dream about all the food, all day long, so we're kicking off Freeway Friday. Every Friday, we're picking a different state and serving up their finest fare (while it lasts) to you.

The 8 Ohms Band hails from Annapolis, Maryland and has a powerhouse lineup of players from all over the DC metro area. Bringing heaping doses of Horn Heavy Funk. Drawing from diverse musical backgrounds, The 8 Ohms are known for blurring the lines between hard groove, funk, soul, reggae and a slight taste of DC's own go-go music.

Sweet Leda knows how to get the party started - moving and grooving with an undeniably contagious energy that nearly leaps off the stage, as front-woman Julie Cymek often does. Cymek’s deep, bluesy wail is familiar and fun, a bopping, rhythmic sneer that's just as much Mary J. Blige as it is Janis Joplin. Greater Maryland Beer Festival

We’re throwing a pretty sweet party on Saturday, November 16 right here on Kent Island known as Greater Maryland Beer Festival (don’t read it out loud ‘cause then it kinda sounds like “Great American Beer Festival”, and we don’t want to cause any confusion).

We’re hosting in 23 breweries in honor of our 23 counties (almost all represented) who are each bringing 2 styles of beer for your to enjoy.

The party will run from 12-4pm outdoors under the tent and we’ll have food and all sorts of entertainment including a live game show, music, and a presentation of medals for winning beers based on YOUR voting. Each guest will get a ticket and can put them in the ballot box to vote for best beers, coolest breweries, and best brewery hairstyles.

A ticket is just $43 and includes unlimited samples during the 4 hour extravaganza as well as access to all the ridiculousness.

Second Hand News is a six piece Maryland based band that faithfully performs the music of Fleetwood Mac, occasionally dipping into the solo catalogs of Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie. It all started in 2008 as a one-off Halloween show, which turned into an annual tradition often drawing 500+ fans. As time went on, the single fall show expanded to several shows throughout the year at various clubs, concert halls and festivals. Meg Murray (Vocals), Bryan Ewald (Guitar/Vocals), AngieMiller (Vocals/Acoustic Guitar), Josh Chapman (Bass), Mickey Eckman(Drums) & Mike Ward (Keyboards), are all beloved and in demand veterans of the Mid Atlantic music scene. Individually, members have released a vast catalog of original music, each performing & recording in a wide variety of bands & musical projects, and some regularly touring nationally and internationally. They have built a considerable & devoted fan base over they ears, consistently selling out a majority of their shows.

Swept Under is a pop-punk force hailing from Maryland that emerged in December 2022. Born from a shared passion for diverse musical genres such as melodic hardcore, midwest emo, and easycore, the band has crafted a unique pop-punk sound. Brace yourself for high-energy riffs and impactful lyrics as Swept Under isn’t afraid to push musical boundaries.

Fluorescence is a four piece psychedelic indie rock band hailing from the eastern shore, Maryland. Blending sonic waves of washed out reverb and atmospheric melodies with hard heavy guitar riffs backed with the ever so mind-expanding bass lines, and a groovy rhythm section that makes you wanna jam all night. They have put forth 2 albums so far, “luminous” and “strange dreams” and is working on the third. Line up - Jeremy cruse(guitar, vocals), Sam bagley(lead guitar), Drew creed(bass), Austin hancock(drums)

Hailing from the mid-Atlantic coasts of Delaware, BXR is the culmination of influences from various genres, from punk to hip-hop, scenes from around the world, from Orange County to Gothenburg, and their own stories to tell, from personal struggles unearthed from the deep and the dark to scenes straight out of a bloody historical fiction. With dreams, purpose and a sense of humor to boot, BXR brings to you their own blend of punk infused metal.

Tavair Dominque, an Alt-Folk singer-songwriter and poet based in Baltimore, performs a mix of lively and introspective songs at various local venues and festivals in the mid-Atlantic region. He performs both original music and covers. You can find his music on all streaming platforms.

Virginia Man LIVE at Cult

Virginia Man is an emotional folk-and-roll band comprised of Kristian Lietzan (singer/songwriter), Stephen Amoruso (bass/vocals), and Jamaal Farrow (drummer).  With poetic lyrics bellowing over the sounds of middle Appalachia, these gentlemen champion the sound of Virginia: a strange suspension between the cardinal directions, musical genres, and the changing of seasons.

With lots of new music, the boys have been out on the road!  The live show has become a favorite amongst members and audiences alike, like a sonic rollercoaster, akin to the plot of a great American classic, with gripping performances and storytelling, and celebratory beverages to follow.

Frix’s Fire Grill just swept the best restaurant categories and the punks at Cult Classic are not taking it lying down.
As such, we present The Stroganoff!
