Sure, you could eat a cheeseburger inside of a hotdog with plop nacho cheese and wash it down with a 64oz guzzler, OR... you could track down the states most popular cuisine and really immerse yourself in the experience.

Here at Cult Classic, we dream about all the food, all day long, so we're kicking off Freeway Friday. Every Friday, we're picking a different state and serving up their finest fare (while it lasts) to you.

Space-based rockers, Astronaut Class, have come down from orbit with their debut album in hand. After years of playing together in various groups, longtime friends and crew mates Sean Lazer (vocals/drums), Zach Bogley (guitar), Jake Rohme (keys/vocals), James Bartolotta (bass), Chase Illig (guitar), and Harrison Fletcher (drums) have joined space-forces to create the universe's first interstellar band.

Astronaut Class recorded their debut album at Spotify’s Noteable Studio in Nashville, TN, with engineer/producer JD Tiner (Birdtalker, Andrew Ripp) at the helm. Production wrapped on the album in late 2023 following the release of the band’s first two singles, “Dancing for Two” and “Keep it to Myself.”

The 12-song galactic epic is set to launch in summer 2024, with new single “Ain’t Done Lovin’ You” leading the way. You can catch Astronaut Class supporting their album in the DC/Baltimore area with future shows slated across the universe.   

Good Impressions is a pop-rock surf band from Severn, MD. Composed of Jake Rohme (Keys & Vocals), Sean Lazer (Drums), Harrison Fletcher (Rhythm Guitar), Zachary Bogley (Lead Guitar), Tanner Nicholson (Bass), and Katy Bogley (Keys & Vocals), the band is here to serve you a blend of funk, pop, rock, and soul inspired tunes. Leader and songwriter, Jake Rohme, has drawn inspiration from all his favorite artists like The Beach Boys, Arctic Monkeys, Duarand Jones and and the Indications and more to craft an excellent night on the town for you and yours.  

Bread Basket is easy listening alternative rock and is composed of Katy Bogley, Jake Rohme, Zach Bogley, and Sean Lazer.

“The Singing Captains” consist of three professional sailboat captains, each enjoying a long and well-seasoned history of both original and cover music performance. Captains Mark Einstein of Blue Crab Chesapeake Charters, Dave Fife of Haven Charters and Rock Hall Tiki Boat, and Dave Sharp of Sharp Marine, team up to provide a fun and lively day or night of acoustic sing-a-long selections as well as some catchy original songs that you will surely want to hear again and again. The Captains’ summer schedule will take them to some of our local marinas and yacht clubs as well as a regularly scheduled “sing-a-long” at Waterman’s Crab House EVERY OTHER THURSDAY from 7-9 beginning May 23^rd. You can also see them at various Mainstay events including The Community Players’ shows, open mics, porch fests and The Fall Fest. The Captains’ original music is also featured at Delmarva Singer Songwriter showcases and events at The Mainstay.

Reserved seats are $20 which includes a seat at a four-person reserved table.

PIRATE PARTY - Captain's Beard and The Bards

Travelin' troubadors from England bringing the finest o' sea shantys and songs of the grog, grot and grime

The Captain’s Beard are a celtic folk rock group from Brighton, (the drinking town with a fishing problem.) Their songs have the folk energy of Flogging Molly and the Pogues mixed with the comedy of Tenacious D. Expect songs about beards and inappropriate mermaids. They also perform traditional Irish folk music with tight harmony singing. Their version of "John Kanakanaka" has received over two and a half million streams on Spotify and will be featuring in the movie "Operation Taco Garys" later this year.

They have played over a thousand gigs and travelled from the highlands of Scotland down to the lowlands of Germany. They've given lavish performances at Alexandra Palace and sung for quaint little family festivals. But wherever they play they bring an exuberant and energetic show with immaculate harmonies.

Their last two albums "Same Ship Different Day" and "Completely Tankard" garner tens of thousands of listeners every month on streaming platforms and their third album "Cannonballs Deep" is set for release in mid May.

Scott Tournet is known for being the frontman for Elektric Voodoo, a founding member of Grace Potter & The Nocturnals (2003-2014), a solo artist, and producer.  With The Nocturnals he was a co-writer on 3 Top 40 albums and scored a gold record for the song “Paris”. 

In addition to his work with EV and the Nocturnals, Scott has written and recorded with Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys), Willie Nelson, T Bone Burnett, Kenny Chesney, Alison Krauss, Mark Batson (Dr. Dre, Alicia Keys, Eminem) and others.  He has performed with The Allman Brothers, members of The Grateful Dead and Phish, Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top) and many others.

After, we’ll put your newly acquired skills to the test while Sandy rocks the ones and twos and keeps you in step.

The United States of America and the feeling of freedom on the freeway, there's nothing quite like it. But you can't drive forever, you gotta fuel up, the vehicle and the beast you're inside of. So you peel off the exit and commence the hunt for sustenance. 

Sure, you could eat a cheeseburger inside of a hotdog with plop nacho cheese and wash it down with a 64oz guzzler, OR... you could track down the states most popular cuisine and really immerse yourself in the experience.

Here at Cult Classic, we dream about all the food, all day long, so we're kicking off Freeway Friday. Every Friday, we're picking a different state and serving up their finest fare (while it lasts) to you.

Books and Beer returns with another Blockbuster lineup of reads for 2024.
 

This event is free and open to all who have read (You do not have to be 21).The book club discusses the book and questions about it for the first hour and spends the final 30 minutes casting it as a film/miniseries while cutting up over beverages.

Meetings are the second Tuesday of the month from 6-7:30pm*
