Ricky Wise is a Baltimore based singing drummer. Growing up on the music of the '40s and '50s from his Grandparents, classic rock from the '60s through the '80s from his Dad, and soul, Motown, and disco hits from the '60s through today from his Mom, he had a wide range of musical knowledge to pull from when he became a full time musician. Ricky has been performing in the DMV area for over a decade now, and has no plans on stopping any time soon. Ricky still enjoys digging through the archives and listening to tunes of the past, as well as finding new music that turns him on, and finding some time to work on original music of his own in his spare time.

Mic Masters Stand Up Comedy Competition - FEB 23

The Mic Masters Stand-up Comedy Competition is here! 

Judging:

Crowd vote - Each member of the crowd will have a list of the comedians and will be able to rate each of them 1-5 (1 = bad, 5 = Best). Along with 3-5 judges (pending on the round), using a technical score card, with categories such as:

Laughs/Pops
Delivery
Stage presence
Originality 
Etc. 

Point deductions for running the light, turning on the crowd, and upsetting me or any of the staff (only half joking with this last one), etc. 
The comedian with the most points at the end of the night wins. $50, bragging rights for one week and crisp high-five from yours truly. 
Tickets for the qualifying rounds will be $10 (Ticket links coming very soon.) 
Ticket price will increase as the competition moves on but won't exceed $20. 
Prize money will also increase as the competition moves on.

Join Medium Debbie on Thursday March 6 2025 as she provides detailed messages to random audience members from their loved ones in Spirit. While all attendees are NOT guaranteed a reading, it is an excellent opportunity to better understand the amazing world of Spirit.

Debbie's metaphysical journey began with a near death experience when she was a teenager. Multiple personal losses in her early 20's prompted a personal journey to study and learn more about what she had come to realize is a Metaphysical gift. She has studied extensively with British mediums in the traditions of the Spiritualist Churches of Great Britain. Concurrently she did pursue a more 'normal career'; she holds a masters' Degree for Johns Hopkins and worked as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer for over 20 years.  This background and experience dealing with very difficult situations lends itself well to the readings she provides with insight, sensitivity, and empathy. 

We do ask that all attendees be at least 18 years of age.

Blues Revue Magazine describes the Kelly Bell Band (KBB) as “Among the most genre-expanding acts on today’s blues scene. Who else can combine elements of hip-hop, funk, and blues-electrified here” Originally formed as the back-up band for rock and roll pioneer, Bo Diddley, KBB has been touring the world ever since entertaining fans in Japan, Spain, Italy, Greece, Cuba, Germany and more.
 
The band has won two prestigious Maryland Music Awards, including “Best Blues Band.” In 2018 they were been nominated for “Music Icon”. KBB has been voted “Best Blues Band” in the Mid Atlantic Region (12 years in a row), and was recently named “Best Band” by Baltimore Style Magazine.
  
Their debut album, ‘Phat Blues Music’ remains one of the best selling releases in Mid-Atlantic region history. In addition to Kelly’s role as front man, Bell is a regular on area radio shows, commercials, television news and several television and movie appearances.

Mike Hines, also known as Mike Hines and The Look, is a high-energy 5-member dance band that can bring any party to life. Also, a 2022  inductee into the Delaware Rock & Roll Society. They play r&b, hip hop, pop, old school funk with a taste of Motown and disco and have entertained large crowds for 3 decades. Mike Hines and The Look frequently perform at nightclubs, weddings, festivals, galas, and private parties and had the honor of performing at the Delaware Inaugural Celebration 2017 for Governor Carney. 

They’re the ultimate party band, with a very diverse following from several generations. During their illustrious career, Mike Hines and The Look have had the honor of opening for acts such as the legendary Dionne Warwick, The Ohio Players, Taylor Dayne, Chris Rock, Al B. Sure, Lisa, Lisa, Naughty by Nature, War and The Sugar Hill Gang. They also had a recording contract with Atlantic Records in 1989/1990, Bud Lite sponsorship. They won many awards and honors while performing in New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Delaware, and Maryland.  

Mike Hines is a consummate showman who sings and dances with energy, style, and finesse. The chemistry of his very talented band is the perfect mix. He has a unique, charismatic personality on and off stage and displays a top-notch work ethic. An evening of entertainment with Mike Hines and The Look is an exciting experience not to be missed.

Second Hand News is a six piece Maryland based band that faithfully performs the music of Fleetwood Mac, occasionally dipping into the solo catalogs of Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie. It all started in 2008 as a one-off Halloween show, which turned into an annual tradition often drawing 500+ fans. As time went on, the single fall show expanded to several shows throughout the year at various clubs, concert halls and festivals. Meg Murray (Vocals), Bryan Ewald (Guitar/Vocals), AngieMiller (Vocals/Acoustic Guitar), Josh Chapman (Bass), Mickey Eckman(Drums) & Mike Ward (Keyboards), are all beloved and in demand veterans of the Mid Atlantic music scene. Individually, members have released a vast catalog of original music, each performing & recording in a wide variety of bands & musical projects, and some regularly touring nationally and internationally. Better Than Butters is BACK at Cult

Better Than Butters is a Maryland-based band formed in late 2020 by members of the Severn River Rugby Club. Their piano-driven sound blends Americana influences with dynamic covers of artists like The Band, CCR, Rusted Root, and The Killers, alongside a growing collection of original songs.

The lineup features Mark Farmer on keys and vocals, Nick Stratchko on drums, John "Gio" Giovingo as lead vocalist, Jake Davis on guitar and vocals, and Bobby Bassline on bass and Bobby Axeman on lead guitar (they are the same person, just play along). Their dynamic performances are known to energize audiences, often accompanied by enthusiastic supporters from their rugby club.

It’s a flippin’ Kent-A-Lina Wine Mixer. Kent Island’s preeminent helicopter leasing event

We’ll have unlimited wine and beer samples as we put in the man hours to study the science of what you need. That’s right, we’re doing the research to find your favorite wines so we can start featuring fancy wine in the taproom FULL TIME.
We’ll have fancy foods and fancy sauce to complement the vino and beers and all the 80’s Billy Joel you can shake a stick at.

Tickets are $47 in advance ($55 at the gate) and include a souvenir glass in addition to unlimited samples, fancy foods, and LIVE music.

Flatland Drive Bluegrass Band LIVE at Cult

Flatland Drive began, not as a joke, but as a serious effort to blend traditional, hard-driving bluegrass with modern stylings, on April Fool's Day in 2009.  The members of the band hail from either Caroline County, Maryland or Kent County, Delaware, and their proximity is alarmingly close.

In their time together, the band has shared the stage with the likes of bluegrass giants such as The Seldom Scene, The Lonesome River Band, Dailey and Vincent, The Boxcars, and many other stellar bands in the world of bluegrass.  They have worked very hard to write, find, and sharpen a wide array of material that showcases the instrumental prowess of their players and the respected harmonic talents of their vocalists.

From multi-day weekend bluegrass festivals to intimate, yet down-to-earth weddings and everything else in-between, Flatland Drive is available to bring its talents and musical repertoire to nearly any occasion.  The band hopes to see you in its musical journey sometime or many times throughout this year's playing season.

Get here early. Cult Classic Brewing Company is your new spot for cold drinks, fresh food and good times. We've got 15+ beers brewed in house on tap, fresh handmade pizzas with from-scratch dough, hand-pattied burgers, jumbo wings, pub fare and more.
