Second Hand News is a six piece Maryland based band that faithfully performs the music of Fleetwood Mac, occasionally dipping into the solo catalogs of Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham and Christine McVie. It all started in 2008 as a one-off Halloween show, which turned into an annual tradition often drawing 500+ fans. As time went on, the single fall show expanded to several shows throughout the year at various clubs, concert halls and festivals. Meg Murray (Vocals), Bryan Ewald (Guitar/Vocals), AngieMiller (Vocals/Acoustic Guitar), Josh Chapman (Bass), Mickey Eckman(Drums) & Mike Ward (Keyboards), are all beloved and in demand veterans of the Mid Atlantic music scene. Individually, members have released a vast catalog of original music, each performing & recording in a wide variety of bands & musical projects, and some regularly touring nationally and internationally. They have built a considerable & devoted fan base over they ears, consistently selling out a majority of their shows.

The hot-dog eating contest returns after WINGO on our 6th annual Franksgiving celebration.
 

FRANKSGIVING 6: HOT DOG EATING COMPETITION

Limited to 10 contestants. Competition begins at 8:15pm. Rules are below.  

The Rules

• Must be 21 years of age to enter.
• Contestants may not touch hot dogs until the starting signal.
• Only entire hot dogs eaten will be counted (an entire hot dog includes the bun).
• Contestants will have 3 minutes to down all the hot dogs they can handle.
• Contestants may drink water while eating their hot dogs.
• Buns and hot dogs may be separated, dunked or mangled.
• All portions of the hot dog (including bun) must be eaten.
• When the 3 minute time limit is up contestants may not put any additional hot dog or buns in their mouths.
• They will have 20 seconds to swallow what is in their mouths.
• Any contents remaining in contestant’s mouths at the end of 20 seconds will not be counted.
• Partially eaten hot dogs will not be counted.
• Signs of sickness will result in disqualification (throwing up & choking).
• Ties will be decided by an “eat off”

Winner will take home a trophy, a pair of Franksgiving Sweatpants that we found in a bin from 6 years ago, and the pride and respect that comes with the title of Hot Dog Eating Champion as well as free admission into next years contest if the world is still here.

The Hollow Truths, Will Sims, Brothers Clair, The Burn Doubts LIVE at Cult

The Hollow Truths have been distilling their sound over hundreds of shows and multiple releases. The band self-describes their sound as 'modern 90's.' With their focus on storytelling and emphasis on the pop elements of alt-rock, they often draw comparisons to many bands of that era. Singer/songwriter Brett Buehler says he finds inspiration for lyrics in 'books, habits, relationships, & Taco Bell.' During live performances, the band focuses on making a conscious effort to entertain the crowd as though they were in the audience themselves. Based out of Baltimore, MD, the band continues to play at venues on the east coast and beyond. In 2022, the band made it as far as 6th St in Austin, TX, for SXSW. Local radio station WTMD states, 'They are rock you can relate to, offering honest storytelling over crunchy jams.'"

Will Sims is a Baltimore based Singer and Songwriter who has been playing in the local scene for over 10 years. His blend of Rock, Alternative, and Pop influences have allowed him to write a variety of songs from beautiful ballads, to energetic singalongs, to stadium rock anthems. His writing focuses on many universal themes including romantic and social relationships, difficulties faced in our modern society, and uplifting, hopeful tunes.

Brothers Clair is a group that was raised with varying musical influences, bringing together a rough blend of eclectic melodies and a pounding rhythm.

Swept Under is a pop-punk force hailing from Maryland that emerged in December 2022. Born from a shared passion for diverse musical genres such as melodic hardcore, midwest emo, and easycore, the band has crafted a unique pop-punk sound. Brace yourself for high-energy riffs and impactful lyrics as Swept Under isn’t afraid to push musical boundaries.

Fluorescence is a four piece psychedelic indie rock band hailing from the eastern shore, Maryland. Blending sonic waves of washed out reverb and atmospheric melodies with hard heavy guitar riffs backed with the ever so mind-expanding bass lines, and a groovy rhythm section that makes you wanna jam all night. They have put forth 2 albums so far, “luminous” and “strange dreams” and is working on the third. Line up - Jeremy cruse(guitar, vocals), Sam bagley(lead guitar), Drew creed(bass), Austin hancock(drums)

Hailing from the mid-Atlantic coasts of Delaware, BXR is the culmination of influences from various genres, from punk to hip-hop, scenes from around the world, from Orange County to Gothenburg, and their own stories to tell, from personal struggles unearthed from the deep and the dark to scenes straight out of a bloody historical fiction. With dreams, purpose and a sense of humor to boot, BXR brings to you their own blend of punk infused metal.

Tavair Dominque, an Alt-Folk singer-songwriter and poet based in Baltimore, performs a mix of lively and introspective songs at various local venues and festivals in the mid-Atlantic region. He performs both original music and covers. You can find his music on all streaming platforms.

Virginia Man is an emotional folk-and-roll band comprised of Kristian Lietzan (singer/songwriter), Stephen Amoruso (bass/vocals), and Jamaal Farrow (drummer).  With poetic lyrics bellowing over the sounds of middle Appalachia, these gentlemen champion the sound of Virginia: a strange suspension between the cardinal directions, musical genres, and the changing of seasons.

We are thrilled to announce that Medium Debbie Wojciechowski will be coming to Cult Classic Brewing in Stevensville, MD to offer a fascinating Mediumship Experience!

Join Medium Debbie on Thursday March 6 2025 as she provides detailed messages to random audience members from their loved ones in Spirit. While all attendees are NOT guaranteed a reading, it is an excellent opportunity to better understand the amazing world of Spirit.

Debbie's metaphysical journey began with a near death experience when she was a teenager. Multiple personal losses in her early 20's prompted a personal journey to study and learn more about what she had come to realize is a Metaphysical gift. She has studied extensively with British mediums in the traditions of the Spiritualist Churches of Great Britain. Concurrently she did pursue a more 'normal career'; she holds a masters' Degree for Johns Hopkins and worked as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer for over 20 years.  This background and experience dealing with very difficult situations lends itself well to the readings she provides with insight, sensitivity, and empathy. 

We do ask that all attendees be at least 18 years of age.

We discuss the book and questions about it for the first hour and spends the final 30 minutes casting it as a film/miniseries while cutting up over beverages.

United Way's Shore Got Talent

THE Talent show fundraiser for United Way. Contestants must be from the eastern shore.

How It Works…

This is such a fun event. Contestants post their video on YouTube. Contestants register below. Voters come to this page, and click the button below the video to vote for the video. Votes are only $1.00. Vote as many times as you like.

Contestants

Entries must be received by January 3^rd 2025

First cut: Remove 25% with the lowest votes on February 1.
Final cut: Remove 25% with the lowest votes on March 1.

Rules or Requirements

• Acts must be 5 minutes or less
• Must be a resident of the Eastern Shore
• No age or group limit
• No fire, profanity, or weapons
• No glitter, confetti, or popcorn

Attendance Fees and Voting

Tickets are just $5.00 each or Table of 4 for $40.00
Limited tables and general admission
Full bar menu available at the bar (cash or credit)

Frix’s Fire Grill just swept the best restaurant categories and the punks at Cult Classic are not taking it lying down.
As such, we present The Stroganoff!
Step right up and get your tickets to the most delicious show in town.
Unlimited samples of Stroganoff from the Masters at Frix’s and the Newbies at Cult and you get one vote for your favorite at the end of the party.

Winner takes all. The trophy. The glory. The leftovers.

Let’s hold Frix’s to the fire and see if their Stroganoff is really all that.
